GRATITUDE
To all the volunteers in the kitchen, those working with the children and greeting people at the door, you revealed what strength and limitless patience look like;
To all the performers who graced us with their talent and brought spirit to and light into the hall;
To the vendors, the producers, and the guests who were there for the communal forum,
To our beloved friends and neighbors at Amalgamated Coop and in the spirit of fellowship,
A special shout out to our Vegan Master Babafemi (BabaJuice) Ojudun for running the Vladeck Hall Kitchen with efficiency, precision and flavor,
And deep appreciation to our partners in mutual aid, Rap4Bronx, for donating fresh produce and delivering ready meals to the food pantry and The Friendly Fridge Bronx for creating and keeping such a wonderful community resource that we support whenever we are able.
We thank you for all for making JBOLC’s first fully indoor event happen and for making it a happening!
How You Helped
You made it a special occasion that brought a total of 100 free meals to St. Benedict's Food Pantry and to the Broadway and 242nd Friendly Fridge.
Here are the events we are planning before our JBOLC Garden Community Farmers Market opens on June 11
April 9th JBOLC will participate in a dedication of 3 Redbud Trees
to remember all our friends and neighbors who have died of Covid. Father Franco from Our Lady of the Angels Church will bless the trees.
This event has been organized by our friend and neighbor Marianne Kraft and will take place at the site of the planting site near Reservoir and University Avenues.
